My family and I love the sunset. We always bring out appetizers, drinks, have relaxing music and let the dogs out. It's a ritual and something we all love. We share what happened during the day and enjoy the warmth of the sun. It's such a tradition that my then 4 year old would bring out juice boxes, string cheese and apple slices and say, "I have appetizers, Mommy!" Love it!
So, I usually make dinner at sunset, my favorite time of the day. When I am making dinner, I always put out appetizers. This way, my kids and husband enjoy healthy veggies and pita chips while we talk and I cook.
I know....It's a sneaky way to make sure the kids eat veggies, since they are super hungry before dinner. But whatever works, right? We all love to dip crunchy veggies, multi grain crackers and tortilla chips in dip. Something about the crunch with the tasty dip. But I don't like the fat and calories in most dips. Here is my favorite Low Fat Clam Dip recipe.
Clams are low in calories, fat & carbohydrates and high in protein.
Ingredients:
- 1 can minced clams - drained with juice set aside
- 1 container fat free or reduced fat sour cream or Greek Yogurt
- Worcestershire sauce
- black pepper
