Paris, France
Florence Italy 🇮🇹 Statue of David Academia Gallery | Ponte Vecchio | Uffuzi Gallery | High speed Train - The statue of David by Michelangelo is the most famous and beautiful sculpture in the world. - Interesting facts: The Statue weighs 12,500 lbs. and stands 2 stories high. It’s sculpted from a single block of marble from the Apuan Alps in Tuscany, one of the whitest in the world. Michelangelo studied anatomy by dissecting cadavers. There are 3 statues of David located throughout Florence, only 1 is legitimate. You’ll find Michelangelo’s David in the Academia Gallery in Florence, Italy. - “The Tree of Life” “The Coronation of the Virgin” “The Rape of the Sabine Women” - My Thoughts: seeing the statue of David was one of the highlights of my life. When you have only seen something in photos and you actually see it in person, it’s surreal. The entire trip with my daughter was the trip of a lifetime. Getting to spend quality time together seeing things for the first time through her eyes is irreplaceable. The high-speed train was amazing. I recommend getting the private club car. It’s very clean and lots of upgrades. The Afusi gallery was iconic. You need about 3 hours. The food in Florence is the best best best ever. I highly recommend taking the tour through the Duomo, the weight of the importance being in the church and seeing the gold doors, and hearing the history is almost too much to comprehend in a short time I loved the rich history everywhere we turned, life-changing.. - I am putting all of the museum and art links along with my travel tips, where to stay, where to eat. If you’re planning to go to Paris, Florence or Rome. It will all be on my website very soon. Ciao! - Next stop 🚇High speed train to Rome… Colosseum, Roman Forum, Palentine Hill, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps… -
Colosseum | Rome, Italy
Colosseum | Rome, Italy 🇮🇹 We toured Palatine Hill, the Roman Forum, and the Colosseum. I could feel the energy, power, death & history as we walked thru the Gladiator’s entrance and on to the Arena floor. - Titus Arch was massive. Beautiful Intricate carving underneath. It was during the heat wave in Rome, temperature soared to 109°. Hottest in history of Rome. Rome literally closed for a day. - I Wanted to share some facts we learned about the Colosseum. Some are hard to read I know. * The Colosseum aka also the Flavian Amphitheater is the biggest amphitheater in the world. 620 by 513 feet * It is one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. * You can see the section of the arena that was once underground, maze of tunnels & cages, where the gladiators waited their turn to fight, and where wild animals 🥲were kept before being released into the arena by man powered elevators * It was a very violent time. Fighting, slaughtering of animals, and killing people for entertainment. * 100 days of games, including gladiatorial combats and wild animal fights. * According to experts, around 400,000 gladiators were killed. Appx 1,000,000 animals died over the 390 years that the amphitheater was active * Gladiators were generally enslaved peoples, condemned criminals or prisoners of war. - My thoughts: It made us sad to think of all the people and animals that were killed there for entertainment, majority not by choice. We chose not to walk in the underground area to see where the animals were kept. I was surprised how massive the Colosseum was. I had only seen it in movies and books but when you’re standing on the arena floor, it’s massive, powerful, enveloping & overwhelming. -
Fabulous Florence, Italy
Rome, Italy 🇮🇹 Vatican, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps The Sistine chapel and Saint Peter’s basilica were surreal. When I looked back at the photographs and videos, I am still in awe. St. Peter's is “the largest church in the world and the greatest of all churches of Christendom. It is the most famous building in Vatican City, Rome. It is the most beautiful church I have ever seen in my life. Hearing the Italian songs and service during mass, mesmerized by the ornate, Michelangelo masterpieces, feeling the flood of goodness & spiritual emotions. The light shining through as if angels were shining us. The feeling was overwhelming and I reflect on it daily. Interesting facts we learned: The St. Peter's Basilica Dome or the Cupola is one of the largest domes in the world. The design of the Dome is attributed to Michelangelo. VATICAN: museum was spectacular. So much to see & overwhelmingly beautiful. Marble sculptures, unbelievable tapestries that look like photographs, works from the immense collection amassed by the Catholic Church throughout the centuries, including several of the most well-known Roman sculptures and most important masterpieces of Renaissance art in the world SISTINE CHAPEL: What a treat to go into the Sistine chapel it was so emotional and so beautiful. No photographs, videos or talking allowed. The rich history, power & energy was so meaningful. TREVI FOUNTAIN : it was much larger than I remembered. It was a very hot day and very crowded. Probably 105° and I don’t like crowds lol. But when in Rome…I bought us cotton scarves which we soaked with water at the Trevi and wrapped around our shoulders to keep cool. The excitement and energy of all the people gathering around was so much fun. Truly a beautiful treat. SPANISH STEPS: such an amazing moment at the Spanish steps. The sun was setting, and a local comes over and starts playing “Wild World” by Cat Stevens on the guitar. I sat near him and just grabbed the moment. It was as if time stopped. Kiana Jr. came and sat next to me, and we sang along. He only sang 1 song before the policia came and chased him away Arrivederci Rome 🇮🇹💪🏼 For more visit my Fit Travel Journal http://www.Kiana.com/fit-travel #rome #Italy #trevifountain #spanishsteps #vaticanmuseum #motherdaughter www.kiana.com Autographs https://kiana.com/meet-and-greet-call/ Kiana Training https://kiana.com/pt-2/ Consultation https://kiana.com/phone-consultation/ Simple Weight Loss program https://kiana.com/weight-loss-programs/ Kiana Private Client Program https://kiana.com/get_healthy/ Get my Fit Cooking Book https://kiana.com/fit-cooking-book/ Muscle Meal Plans https://kiana.com/guided-nutrition/ Stream classes http://egym.kiana.com Healthy recipes and meal plans https://kiana.com/recipe-posts/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/KianaTomwwwkianacom Instagram: https://instagram.com/kiana_tom_flexappeal_fitmomtv YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/KianaTomflexappeal Snapchat: KianaTomFlex TikTok: https://vm.tiktok.com/Jdnp7NE/
