Protein Oatmeal in 3 minutes

Aloha! I love protein oatmeal! I’ve been making this ever since the bodybuilding, I 💪🏼🌴👙Kiana’s Flex Appeal days! It’s a simple way to add protein to oats which are primarily complex carbohydrates. This is a simple recipe that you can easily customize with your favorite toppings such as fresh berries, coconut or nuts. This is a perfect pre-workout breakfast that gives you long lasting energy! One way is to add a scoop of your favorite protein powder. But the way I prefer to do it is by adding an egg white and then putting it in the microwave. Don’t get me wrong I love protein powder but if I have a choice I would rather have natural protein.

How to: Add your oats to a microwavable safe bowl. Crack the egg and separate the egg white by transferring the egg back-and-forth until you only have the yolk remaining in the shell. Do you want the egg whites into the oats, keep the egg yolk for your doggy or for another recipe. Cover your oats and egg white mixture with almond milk or water. Put in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir and repeat two or three times depending on your microwave. Do not microwave it for a full minute and a half all at once because it will explode and make a mess. Do it in 30 second intervals. (Oatmeal interval training lol)

Add your favorite toppings! I love to enjoy my protein oatmeal with Greek Yogurt, fresh berries, unsweetened coconut flakes and toasted almonds. Keep on flexing and keep on fit Cooking!
