When we purchased our home over 2 years ago, it had been vacant for 10 years + and needed some life, positive energy and love. It is over 2 acres of property, a big task. I love how the backyard turned out. We are outside most of the time I wanted it to be luxurious as if we were on vacation at a 5-star resort. My favorite resort pools are the Four Seasons, Grand Wailea, Montage, Ritz Carlton.

The original backyard was empty. Just a huge concrete area and a yard full of overgrown weeds. But ooooh, what beautiful unobstructed views of the canyon, ocean and hills.

I am not one to just buy anything to get it done. I searched and searched for just the right materials and furniture to bring my visions to reality. Right now (below) I'm in my home office lol shopping for a patio set for the upstairs master bedroom balcony sitting area.

Starting with the pool. I love love love the blue rustic distressed water line tile I chose. It's absolutely gorgeous and I admire it daily. The tile is so beautiful that I use the samples for coasters. We continued the stonework on the pool to tie in the existing stonework on the patio. I researched hundreds of images of resort pools, VIP adult pools, and found that most pools are elegant and simple. I love the cotton curtains blowing gently in the breeze.

I love white cushions mixed with grays.

I love the monochromatic grays, taupes, and whites of the furniture. I wanted to tie in as many natural elements, using my treasured sun-bleached driftwood chime hanging piece that I adore along with a hanging sea-glass sculpture.
