I wanted to share with you an amazing workout routine I did today! It took about 1 1/2 hours and I worked up such a great sweat! I love doing workout routines that are concentrated & focused, where I push myself as hard as I can the whole time.
This workout routine is longer than most of my workouts, I was loving it that my kids were spending the day with my Mom, so I had so more workout time for me, and I made the most if it. A 1 1/2 hour workout was pretty long for me. I had to eat a quick snack to keep my energy up (1/2 banana.) Actually, I prefer shorter workouts that I do often. You get in better shape exercising frequently as opposed to one long workout once every week or two. Consistency is the key to a fit body. I change up my workouts every single time I train. It is more fun, I look forward to it and it builds a more well rounded physique faster.
Beginners: Jog 10 seconds / Brisk walk for 1 minute / 10 minutes
Interval #2: Total Body
16 rounds of 30 second intervals / 10 second rest:
Bent over rows
1 arm lunge press (both sides)
1 arm close stance squats (both sides)
full body dips
1 arm bent over rows (both sides)
standing shoulder presses
standing heavy alt. dumbbell curls
Interval #3: Core / Abs
15 rounds of 30 sec / 10 sec rest / 3 rounds of:
suspension reverse v ups
hanging knee raises
medicine ball 1 arm throws on bounce board
medicine ball 1 arm squat overhead raise
knee tuck jumps
By the way, I’ve been loving “On the Floor” by Jennifer Lopez. I listen to this while I train, run on the beach, jump rope. It gives me alot of power, drive and energy when I need it. Studies show that exercising to music gives you at least 15% better workouts. I think it gives much more than 15%! I really get the best workouts with music. Enjoy!
