Here are some helpful tips to keep you fit!

  1. Do a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise per day  whether it’s brisk walking, trying a new exercise, home circuit training, jogging – something!
  2. Eat a light healthy snack or mini meal before you go to any party
  3. Alternate your holiday cheer with a glass of sparkling water or 2
  4. Eat 5-6 healthy snacks per day that include lean protein such as string cheese, grilled chicken strips, hard boiled eggs, protein shakes
  5. Strive for 6-8 hours of sleep, stretching and relaxation time (easy…I can hear you giggling from here)
  6. Drink lots of water: 1 glass when you wake up, before each meal, before bed
  7. Be picky about which desserts you enjoy
  8. Eat the healthiest foods on the plate first
  9. Don’t fret about portion sizes;  use a salad plate instead it’s easier
  10. Salad dressing on the side, dip your fork into the dressing and then into the salad (less dressing, same taste)
  11. Eat stress combating foods: salmon, turkey, chicken, beans, whole grains, spinach, olive oil, flaxseed, oats, asparagus, leafy green veggies, berries and my favorite: a piece of rich dark chocolate 70% cocoa or +
  12. Take 5 minutes and stretch, especially if you sit at a desk all day
  13. Keep trigger foods out of the house
  14. Ask for help (hard for me to do too)
  15. Surround yourself with positive people who give you energy instead of taking it away (the dreaded energy vampires!)
